I've just been messing around with this idea:

30'' scale
Tuned EADGBE
Natural

no, not at all!
A 6-string EADGBE 30" bass is a great rythm instrument. Especially if you a tighter string spacing and can do chord shapes like on a guitar...
 
That'd be awesome! Perhaps a 28" scale would be better with some baritone strings
 
either an Infinity 5-string, solid body, black, ebony fingerboard. or a 5-string Thumb, same specs
 
A Streamer Stage 1 5 string with a normal sized neck!
Like the LX 5, with stage 1 specs.

I've contacted the CS awhile back and they informed me that a BN 7 string BO (Thumb) would be about $1,000 extra. Although they still won't do wooden knobs or pickup covers... I ordered wenge knobs off of ebay and have them on my Thumb right now and they look awesome :) Still no pickup covers yet though.
 
Considering that the 2008 limited edition will have wooden pickup covers, I guess we can expect wooden pickup covers to become part of the CS options...

so they decided to do 7 strings BN? interesting. But is it only for BO models or they'll do it for NT too? and if they do 7 strings BN they could do 8 strings with normal spacing no?

Out of those options, we can only offer the pickup wooden cover at the moment. We do have custom knobs, but those are not made out of wood. When we make a 7 strings bass, we make it based on a 6 strings broadneck.
