Hey all,

I finally got tired of my passive Vette's non-hum canceling MEC's...so I tried these out on a whim, and found that they are outstanding pickups...especially for the money. They have adjustable polepieces, and are reverse wound, reverse polarity for hum canceling.

FWIW, the pickups have nothing to do with John Entwistle, but originated with a fellow from the UK by the name of Alan Entwistle. They sound pretty sweet, clearer than the originals...hard to define, but I want to say "livelier" with a nice punchy low end. I liked them so much when AB'd with my other Corvette Standard fretless (I have a matched set for gigs...must have a backup, you know) that I put a set in that bass as well. Also, the basses definitely kept the "Warwick growl"...maybe even more so. Also, I happen to think they look cool ;)

I'm so glad to finally have hum-canceling pickups in my babies...hooray for me!

That's very nice, nothing better than an "upgrade" on an already fine instrument. Enjoy. :)
