Just heard about the Earthquake over there, Hope you fellow warwick heads are alright.

Brian.

It seems like a few buildinds were damaged in Kent area, but thank God ,no victims. I hope everyone is ok.

earthquakes in england are usually too small to do any damage. i know nothing of this earthquake though. was it meant to be big?

it was fairly big for the UK... a few buildings got messed up and a few injuries i think but nothing too serious... the uk doesnt really do natural disasters part from the odd flood!

I think it was a 5.0.

I was living with my brother in San Francisco and we were hit by a 7.4, it was pretty scary.

Oh, yes!!! a couple of thousands. Official 1424 were killed in Bucharest only. But it seems they were over 3000.

I think the Ricter scale increases exponentially... so there's a big big difference between a 5 and a 7, for example. Even so, I believe some people will be made homeless in Kent and have to have their houses demolished. Thankfully no-one seriously hurt though!

your right the rikta (cnt spell) scale is exponential. Which is confusing.

The Richter scale is highly inaccurate... There's a Japanese scale that works much better
