This Monday, fans of Jimi Hendrix were treated to a very special event. The legendary guitarist would have turned 70 this year and for this very special occasion, Framus endorser Earl Slick shared the stage with a number of other musical greats such as the cult band Living Colour, as well as members of The Roots and 4-7 Spyz in order to pay tribute to the master guitarist.
Earl and company then proceeded to perform a number of hit songs by the immortal artist, such as "Crosstown Traffic", "Red House", and of course, "Hey Joe" in their very own musical style. Everyone present at the happening New York venue "City Winery" spent an evening to remember and throughout the entire gig, Earl relied on his trusty and unmistakable Earl Slick Signature guitar.
Due to his signature playing style with his trademark feel and raw energy, Earl Slick has been one of the most sought-after guitarists of the Rock’n’Roll scene for many years. He is undoubtedly most well-known for his long-lasting collaboration with one-of-a-kind musician David Bowie. However, he has also worked with legendary musicians such as John Lennon, Yoko Ono, Jim Diamond, Robert Smith and the New York Dolls, to only name a few, both on tour and in the studio.
It is no surprise that we made his very own signature model for Earl, which is built to his exact specifications and embodies his true-blue rock’n’roll attitude like no other instrument. The swamp ash body, combined with a maple neck and a rosewood fingerboard provide the guitar with a dynamic, true rock tone. Furthermore, the instrument is available in a number of different configurations and comes with either PAF or P90 pickups and either a tune-o-matic bridge or a Bigsby B5 vibrato unit.
