Hey, if someone is eligible, they should enter the forum custom shop bass we did awhile back! its a thumb, and i believe it meets the criteria! if it doesn't, lets modify it. think about it, wouldn't that be so cool!

That would be good but who gets the bass after hahahah

It would be "the warwick forum bass" that belongs so the guy who entered it to the competition.

If its janvanhove, he should just get it, considering all he's done for us.
 
Yeah i agree there,but that wouldnt be fair to all the other entrants.Pity it's not judged by the public or we could do something about it.
 
oh its only open to them? haha i entered anyway! a few days ago.

I entered yesterday. Just read the Ts & Cs and I will be exxcluded right away. Dont' see why you have to restrict it to a thumb or Streamer. I also chose an inlay on a fretless which is excluded for some reason. I still think my bass would be great, but I'm going to have to live with a thndrstk mockup!
 
I just subscribed to the magazine, and am working on my entry...

It will be a thumb, and it should have a good portion of ebony in it, so it won't be too far from the forum bass, but although awesome, the forum bass is not MY dream bass...

well, come to think of it my dream bass would not be a streamer or a thumb to begin with...

Once the contest closes I'll post my entry on the forum...

well, the configuration I'm aiming for would go for close to 10000 euros from the price list...

well, we're talking Warwick dreams, here...

What I have in mind has french ash, wenge, and mirrored-P pickups... You'll see in a few weeks, I'll post the mockups here... :)
 
Why doesn't Warwick offer a contest like this to all Wick owners. I understand that Europeans are'nt the fondest people of the U.S. at this point in time, but we still buy ass-loads of Warwicks. What gives?
 
It's the dutch bass player magazine. And there was just a contest in USA. The prize was a Thumb NT fretless signed by Jack Bruce. Some Warwick Rig, a warwick combo and some crazy sweet effect pedals. The lucky guy is on the forum.
 
Since I am not eligable to enter the contest here would be my entry:

Thumb NT fretted 5 string carved from a single piece of the most highly figued bubinga pommelle. The fingerboard, knobs, pickup, trussrod and control covers would be strategically cut from the log so the when installed the grain would match flawlessly This would give the appearance that the bass was carved like a sculpture, but would be completely functional. Other features would include wide string spacing, flat neck shape, JAN 1, 24k gold hardware w/ recessed strap locks and Bartolini dual coil soapbars w/ wood covers, and Bart 3 band eq w/ coil splitting options by pulling up the tone knobs, as not to destract from the basses appearance with swiches. The trussrod cover in gold lettering would read " Thumb King" as this bass would be appropriately named. This is my Dream Bass anyway. Maybe Someday?
