DR Lo-Riders on a 'Vette?

I'm looking to get new strings tonight and I'm wanting some DR Lo-Riders. My questions are whether I should get Heavy or Medium, and depending on which of those, which guages should I get? The heavies are 50-110, while the mediums range from .040-.095 and 45-105. Thanks for any help.
 
i'd go with mediums (45-105) but it depends on how which tuning you use and what you prefer. good choice with DRs anyway!
 
I generally stay with standard tuning but occasionally go to drop D for RatM and such, and I like a nice tautness in my strings. Would you still recommend that guage of meds?
 
105 is still fine with drop D. gives a little more flop and lets the strings rattle against the frets some, giving more growl and zing.
 
I gt my first set of D-'Addarios to restring my Fortress and love them. I'm going to try their version, ESP's I believe.
 
just throwing this out there, i bought some DR Hi-Beams for my vette and I hated the sound they put out. I had them on my baby for maybe a week before I went to my local music shop and bought some new Red Labels for her.
Maybe my ear isn't hearing the same as all you rabid DR fans, but I definitely wasn't digging that tone.

Well hi beams are supposed to be musically bright, without a harshness; lo riders give good tone with slap and other styles.
