Don't you find the wait kills you more than the price tag?

Bass Centre just got back to me... The current estimated delivery date for my Vampyre is 14th September. I ordered on the 30th May. The prospect of paying such a vast sum of money is just completely over-shadowed by the time it'll take to be ready haha...

Anyone else feeling the pain on their order?

This could be the official support thread for those buying from the custom shop! :)

I'm more worried about what to expect from the Bubinga Pommele figuring.................... :?

I feel your pain! I had to wait over 6 weeks for my Streamer. It'll be worth the wait 8)

How easy was it to order a CS via the Bass Centre? DId you do it by phone, or call in? Just wondering about the actual mechanics of the operation in case I order one myself!

My Vette Custom Bubinga 5 is coming to me arround 1 september. One month and a half...That's a lot! But I wanted something special, so I guess the process of building a custom is not an easy job...

I did it half and half by phone/email through a guy who recently left the Bass Centre called Napper. He was a fantastic guy to deal with, he was always right on the case, and somehow he managed to tolerate my endless barrage of questions. The process was really quite easy. You specify what you want, they get you the quote. You pay a deposit to start the build, and pay the rest when it's ready.

I haven't dealt with the Bass Centre much since Napper left but it was a MISSION to get an update on when I might be expecting my bass. I had to ask four or five times... and everytime, the guy I spoke to just never got back to me. Turns out there's a guy called Andy who's running the show down there at the moment, and he wasn't in last week when I was trying to find out. I got through to him yesterday and he got me an answer in 20 mins :) Legend.

So... I think it depends on who you deal with.

Let me tell you that like you, the wait was much more annoying than the price of the bass...

I must say that I don't regret the 2268€ spent in the bass... AT ALL !

Well, the boys from Warwick factory are just great! They sent my Vette sooner then expected, she will come to me in few days!

My goodness !

The 3 months I awaited my bass were soooooo long !

But 11 !

i was lucky to find that my grampa was on a business trip in germany and he was more than happy to bring my $$ back to australia for me.
i ended up getting it at close to half the australian retail price and a week after i descided to buy it!

although i did spend almost a year dreaming about how good it would be and saving up money.

Hiya, I made my order today and it was very simple. All done by phone with a guy called Dave who was VERY helpful. Mention their website as he told me their online prices are sometimes lower than in shop ones. He made a few calls back and fourth to Germany and the deal was done. :)

Now I just have to wait................. argh, it is killing me and it has only been 7 hours!!

Cheers,
Rachel

Yeah,

and that was a standard bass...................

Yeah, it was killing me for a while, but then it got into a habit. The importer always sent me small e-mails to inform me of the progress and why there was delays.

In my case, it was the C&C-programming for the Vampyre that wasn`t ready, and somehow it went further and further. In addition, my Vampyre was as I recall it, one of the first three SN-models to be ever made, so thats a treat.

My bass was finished a while ago, but the problem is that Australia is a long way from Germany. I'm assuming that Warwick sent it by ship with the normal consignment of standard basses. Either that or Customs have it!
