Hi everyone,

I was wondering about a Warwick term used by some of you. What does the "FNA" mean in "FNA Jazzman"? There are so many "mysteries" when you are a newbie!

Official: ♣♣♣♣ing Not Altus (or some product name already taken on A)
Un-official: ♣♣♣♣ing Nice Axe

The FNA is the fave electric bass of world
famous cellist "Yo' Mama !"

Yeah, it was supposed to be named the Altus but there was an obscure Japanese Violin luthier named Altus.
 
Thank you, everyone for your highly cerebral thoughts! I'll just call it a Jazzman from now on. Ha Ha!
 
Not that I am saying this is definitive but wasn't the term used as an acronym for "Formerly Named Altus"?

same as the FNA, the jazzman is added because the neck pickup was added, thus making the FNA have a jazzman pickup config. Jazzman being a combination of Jazz bass and music man.

We are serious. Formerly Named Altus/♣♣♣♣ing Not Altus/♣♣♣♣ing Nice Axe is what FNA stands for. If you don't wanna believe that mail Hans-Peter about it.

Hey Ron,

There is no official answer about this. But you know... the most official version is actually "F*** Nice Axe" , and this is not a joke :-)

Now there are rummors about F*** Not Altus, and Formerly Named Altus too, but they were not confirmed :-)

Its fair enough re-reading the thread it could seem that way. Something you'll learn quickly with the forum is that we try our best to help new guys, and rarely if ever make fun of them!
