Dark Lord top...

I find the sandblasted top of the Dark Lord very interesting, and I have a few questions:

-Can it be possible to have that sandblasted finish with other woods than ash, or was it the only wood that responded well to the treatment?

-Can a solid Ovangkol, natural oil Finish Dark Lord be possible? And how much more expensive would it be compared to a regular Dark Lord?

i think ask responds perticularly well to the sandblasted finish because it has a very wide grain which lets the figuring and 3D effect to be more noticable

with Ash, I think there is a big difference in strength/hardness of the grains and non grained part. Therefore you can remove (relatively) easily some material to create the 3D effect. I think it's a lot more difficult to do with other woods like Ovangkol or Bubinga; the surface of these woods feel more consistent, therefore it may be that it is really difficult/impossible to create a 3D effect................I'm just guessing. :roll:
I do think it's possible to get an all Ovangkol body. Why not ?? My guess would be that it's gonna cost like 200 Euros extra................ 8)
