Da Bass-geetard ?

On lazy, foggy sunday mornings like these I always like to start da day with some smooth jazz thru da headphonez...
Today I thought it'd be a good idea to watch (and listen to) some vidz of Melody Gardot... Twice I had da honour to
see this awesome jazz singer perform live ... when I put on her "Worrisome heart" live vid on You tube I noticed something strange...
da guy who plays da bass obviously seems to play da geetard at da same time and on da same instrument...
Now I'm not sure, but I think da instrument is a Dingwall... does any of ya guys know more about it ???

Neat idea, 3 string bass and 5 string guitar, bet it's a challenge to play, that dude is good for that music though, covers the bass and rhythm guit in one go. I'm impressed.
