Just ordered my D-tuner. Anything I need to know before changing it out. It appears that it would be farily simple, but you never know. Thanks...

Know nothing about an excange but I wish you good luck! Why not a 5-er :?: :)
 
It's super easy - a direct replacement. I put one on my bass, but took it off since I never really used it. Just have to fine tune the drop tuning with the little knob on the back and you're all set.
 
It's super easy to use and adjust the tuning with it, should just swap out with no problems...
 
Yes, it's a direct replacement. Remove the old tuner, and put on the Hipshot. Use the screws that come with the Detuner and use the same screw holes. It's important to apply the lithium grease to the lever mechanism (not included).

I want to install an hipshot extender for my B string on a 5 string bass.

Has anyone installed one on a five string W? I'm worried it won't fit somehow , and the lever could not move as much as it has to.

I have one on my P-Nut II - it came installed...

I don't find it particularly useful on the Low B, but on the E of a 4 string I would find it to be much more appreciated

But to get back to your post, yes, it can be done on a 5 string, and it works perfectly, even with the heel at the back of the neck behind the nut.

You found a way to have your signature on the bass. .. Low A :-)
 
on a five string headstock is there enough space between the a and b tuners to put a d-tuner on the E string???

I think the moderators/CS may be able to confirm this, but I don't think it would be possible on a standard warwick?

No there is not. but then again, if you have a 5 strings bass, why would you need to tune down your E string?
 
i occasionally play with a few mates from college (examined pieces for college, one off gigs etc) and they sometimes play in d and sometimes in standard. it would just be nice to be able to downtune the e and still have the b for the odd song.

nothing i expecially need though, it was just a thought

I wouldnt mind a D-Tuner for ethier my E or my B. I like E tuned to D because alot of songs depend on the open note being D (Tool and Rage). Id like one on the B string for concert band so I can D-Tune to a B flat, because most concert music uses low B flats.

Think I could put one of E and B strings?
