Custom Neck?

I was looking at the Custom Shop price list and saw that were Retail prices
listed for replacement necks. Im not sure exactly how this works, but im guessing that if you send your defective neck back to Warwick they send you a new neck and these prices are there as an indication of their value. Anyway, if this is true im wondering is it possible to order these necks at their listed value?
Secondly, is it then possible to go one step further and order a custom replacement neck. For Example, order the standard Ovangkol Bolt-On with Wenge Fretboard neck and then pay the usual custom shop charges for a maple fretboard and matching headstock?
If so, that would be pretty awesome

Hey Mike, welcome back mate!
Short answer - it is not possible to order a warwick neck.
If you have problems with the neck, you send the bass back to your dealer for replacement. If it's still under waranty it will be replaced for free, if no, you'll have to pay the price.
But anyway, it will be replaced with exactly the same model.

That's a valid question pertaining to meself as well as I am expecting a 32" maple neck bass.

Yes,but yours are CS basses Ian so maybe there's some room for a little variation there,maybe not.I think the reasoning behind replacing the neck with one of the same specs is to ensure the bass overall will to maintain a high standard of performance.Then again,maybe it's coz chopping & changing is too disruptive to the production line.For example,if your ovangkol/wenge neck needs replacing,there's going to be a batch of them already in varying stages of production available to simply fit to the faulty bass.If you fancy changing the neck to maple/ebony,with LED's & inlays,any profit made might be absorbed in the disruption caused to the production line by upsetting the expected volume flow.This is if it's not a warranty job.

I don't know all the reasons, but I know the rule : You cannot modify an existing bass If you want CS options, you need to order a new CS warwick.

Oh well, it was just a thought. I thought it would be cool to buy a second hand thumb Bo or Streamer LX and then re-fit it with a Maple neck to test the impact on the bass' tone. I can see why Warwick dont want to sell just necks though, selling half basses doesnt make sense for a company that prides itself on the tone and design of their instruments as a whole.
