I don't understand why people in europe change there money to american dollars and buy it from guitar center online or something like that.
 
because these days the US dollar is ultra-cheap for us and the prices of things in the US hasn't caught back to the level of the rest of the world...

So with shipping and import taxes, it is sometimes cheaper to buy US than to buy local...

perhaps you mean that it could be better to offer actual Euro's to a store, because of the exchange rates?

That would mean sending an envelope with cash and thanks to online banking there's no need for it.

The question is a bit strange
 
The US dollar has absolutely TANKED. SO, it is easier to take the Euros, switch them over and then buy from us. Even before the dollar tanked, it was still cheaper to get stuff here.

In fact, I think that for big ticket items like that, people have to be crazy NOT to play the exchange rate
