cruiser or stryker?

I noticed that the german warwick site calls this bass a "stryker" but the american warwick site(dana b goods) calls it a "cruiser".Whatever the case this bass has John Entwistle written all over it.To quote the american site, If you are going to hit the Strip, you need to have a Cruiser! This is all very well but what if i'm in germany & i wanna hit the autobahn? :lol: Can anyone comment on the 2 names for the 1 bass?cheers.

Truth is stranger than fiction. Several names died hard deaths on that bass. We were obvioiusly snoozy in changing our web site to match. Out of sight, out of mind.

Stryker is the correct name. Note to self: Get our US web site changed.

cheers & thanks for clearing that up for me dana,I've been wondering about it for ages now so it's cool to get an answer.Would it be considered outta place to ask what some of the other names were?
I reckon John would want it to be stryker personally, ( being a huge Entwistle fan myself)that name just feels right to me.Anyway thanks for taking the time out to reply. :wink:

I think I got all of the Cruiser mentions changed today. The original name was Cruiser, then Spyder, then Stryker.

The Cruiser name was OK in the US but not Europe. The Spyder name belongs to Alembic if I remember correctly.

The Styker is a tribute to a bass that John played during his trend-setting career. The JE Estate proudly allows Warwick to put John's name on this bass.

when i started playing bass some 20 years ago i bought rotosound strings coz johns pic was on the cover.I played those strings on rickenbacker,fender,gawd knows what else.I still play them.
