wow! impressive! not much a fan of that bright clanky sound though.
he reminded me alot of michael manring.

he's a lot more musical than michael manring.

and is it just me or are his strings upside down (the lowest string at the bottom)?

It seems that the strings are backwards, the tuning is different, and the higher strngs are guitar gauge or something... Very odd indeed, but amazing to see what can be done when somebody plays by their own rules, I guess. :D ~M~

they are piccolo strings, and the guy invents a different tuning for each of his songs (or almost). Also, the reason of the ''clanky'' sound is that he has piezo in his bridge. I really love jeff schmidt stuff

He's good, but not my thing...

I'm really not feeling it either.

I think I've OD'ed on the twangy solo bass thing...

I'm off to listen to some reggae now... LOL

We've covered Jeff Schmidt before & I love his work. He's a Berkely guy.

He kicks butt hard: he's (one of ) my favourite solo bassplayer I know. And the Pedulla MVP/Buzz is defiitely one sexy bass. 8)

Not someone I've come across (sad I know but I don't know many name bass players... I kinda just play). I Prefer the 2nd piece, very soulful/tuneful but I do have to ask how he would fair in a band situation, especially with that extended range 'instrument'? I'm sure I'll be directed to the correct places but seriously I'm not knocking him, I like what I hear and very skillful.

Impressive but didn't make me want to get down and grooooove!

i ABSOLUTLY LOVE jeff :D yeah sure its easy to say his music doesn't groove (and i agree), but hes not playing that stuff in a band context...
