Corvette $$ Volume cutting out

Hey all!
So I have a 2006( i think) Corvette Double Buck.
When I am playing, the volume slowly starts to get softer and softer, almost as if the battery is dying. Then out of the blue, the volume will reappear. In the past, moving the bass boost knob made it "pop" back into full volume, but now it even does it on Passive mode.
Thoughts?

Sounds like a silly and obvious question, but have you changed the battery for a fresh one?

The bass have passive pickups, so if it does in passive mode as well, it means it is probably a faulty pot, or a contact somewhere... What do you guys think?

Seriously, it can only be the pot imo. Because a damaged wiring or a damaged cable jack would be just on/off, no fading. Sure it's not the amp?

Agreed about the passive pickups Flo

It's strange though... with a loose contact I think it would cut in and out rather than the volume going slowly lower. I still think the first step is a new battery nonetheless to discount the obvious.

After that it might be worth checking the output jack, and cleaning the pots with some electronic contact cleaner.

But battery should have zero impact in passive mode....
That's the beauty of passive pickups - when the battery is out, you pull the button and finish the gig.

You're absolutely right of course, but I still think it's a very cheap first troubleshooting step to ensure that it's not part of the problem.

you tried with a different amp and cable of course?
