Corvette Standard Truss Rod Nut

Good evening,

I have joined this forum as I haven't had a reply from the Warwick Technical/Customer support.

I completed an online form on 25th February - but got no reply, so on 4th March I filled in another online form.

I have STILL not got a reply, so I am hoping that a moderator of the forum will get back to me.

My bass is Serial number H-101325-03.

I bought it secondhand, and in apparently very good condition, with the original warranty card, manual, gigbag, neck tag, polish, truss rod tool.

The truss rod nut seems pretty tight, but the neck still has too much relief in it.

The nut has been deformed in some way - perhaps by a poor fit Allen Key being used? The Warwick truss rod tool doesn't seem too good a fit, and I don't want to spoil it by forcing it. Can a new nut be fitted perhaps?

Hi buddy,

to replace the nut the fingerboard has to be taken off (at least partly).
As you have a 2 way adjustable rod you cannot simply remove it.

The other thing is that replacements nuts are not available
however a new trussrod is only 20 Euro and you can take the nut from this rod
so you do not have to remove the entire fingerboard (up to the 10th fret should do)

Best would be to take it to a luthier

in principal it is no big deal however the frets may need a dress job afterwards

I bet you're in North America or in "Albion the Perfid"... truss rod must be METRIC!!! Otherwise is damages the nut, probably happened on yours.

Visit your nearest dealer or tech, to get a quote on changing the nut. It is not an easy DIY repair, it costs some money, but pays for itself quickly

Try contacting us through the website emails, there might be problems with the forms.

Hi - thanks for your help.

I think I have sorted it in fact - I have got a couple of cotton wool buds with isopropyl alcohol on & cleaned a load of junk out of the socket in the truss rod nut - the tool fits in properly now, not just in the end & I've got a quarter turn on the nut - the neck is straighter & so I think it will settle out OK.
