Corvette Proline 96

Hello!

I allready post a text in "proline vs. standard bub" , but I am really into proline. I have a chance to buy 96 year; I heard that it is a good year ov corvette and I wonder if it is also for proline model. It is passive mec pick ups, active preamp, but I do not know about the wood; some information anybody?
I am used to fender jazz, 70s soud or even better is 60s for me, more deep end; and I am asking if it is a good choise, for rock/ funk .. I need deep, power and also funky groovy sound. With jazz it's good, but I like neck of corvette better.

Hey Lawrence! I don't know that '96 was any better than any other year. But, I would say without a doubt the Pro Line meets your low end requirement.
 
Hello Lawrence and welcome to the forum! Florin, the forum administrator had one back in the 90s :) maybe he can tell you more. As for the bubinga model, I am the proud owner of one. I really like it because it's very mid-rangey and cuts through the mix perfectly. It might be a little TOO agressive for some tastes :) Either way, you can't go wrong.

Yes, I allready wrote to Florin, he did write me back allready; i have to send him more informations and he will answer more about the wood and the rest.
But I also like more opinions, so thank you.
I tried bubinga, like you said it is aggresive more, I like it, more punchy, but I like the construction of proline more, and the neck C shape, cause bubinga have D; at least that one I tried.
But this proline; it should be maple body, but I heard that in that year, they were making ash models... I heard, so I dont know what kind of wood it is... but I'm sure florin will gave me those answers.
