I wanted to share my personal experience with flatwounds. I installed Rotosound flats on my Corvette last week. The tension was way too high for me. I had to play between the neck pickup and the neck. They also greatly reduced the output. Last night I switched them out for some La Bella flats. What a difference. The tension is no more, or less, then the factory strings, the volume is there and the sound is so sweet.

I've been considering trying out some flats on the proline I just bought, I'll have to check out those La Bella's for sure.

Sound really woody.

I put EB flats on my Classic StingRay last Saturday. They also sound very good, but the La Bella/Corvette combo really nails the tone I want. I don't know if I will ever put the rounds back on.

Thomastik Infeld jazz flats are the only strings I use on my basses. I have yet to play a bass string that I like more.
