The only problem to me (which made me need a second bass) is the Thumb doesn't have a massive low end. It's very untraditional sounding if you want that solid low end. With the Corvette you'll be sitting underneath the guitars for eg with a big low end. With the Thumb you'll be competing with guitars with a lot of mids. You'll have a lot more presence in the mix though and a lot more articulation but will supply less low end.
If you play in a band say with two loud guitarists, only choose the Thumb if you want to be articulate, aggressive and slightly "leadish" (for example if you play complex baselines with lots of fills and runs). You will be competing against the guitars though. Choose the Corvette (or pretty much any other Warwick model) if you want to sit underneath the guitars, compliment them (instead of compete) and supply a massive low end.
If you're not playing with two loud guitarists you don't have to think so much about how much space you will have in the mix. Play a Thumb if you want a tight, articulate, middy and aggressive sound. Choose the Corvette if you want low end thump, but at the the expense of articulation and precision.
This is just my opinion though. I play with two guitarists and they were never quite satisfied with my Thumb tone.
