choice between 811 & 611

hey guys i need some advice, i have the cash to buy either one im just wondering if anyone can tell me the difference between the 611 pro and the 811 neo. all im hearing is things about the 611 but nothing about the 811. for the price i would asume the 8x10 would have a better sound quality.im using a musicman sterling and a tubepath head at the moment with alot of different pedals so which speakers would be best for that setup? if anyone knows about reveiws for the two could you please let me know.

Hi Ben,

The 811 ND is with strong mids, in your face, loud and articulated.
The 611 PRO is deep, LOW, some will say that it is not too articulated. Let's say it is a good choice for dub.
 
cheers flo, i was also wondering what would be the best cab to run effects through, such as distortion, synth, crybaby etc.
 
and also what do you mean about dub? i dont know all these lingos im a dumbass haha
 
I'd say 811 ND, because it is more responsive. My fav combination though was 2X 411 pro. BHS ( Before Hellborg System)

G'day Ben & welcome aboard mate.
Personally,I'd go with the 811 neo.It's alot lighter,but a little larger.The difference in tone,with or without effects is going to be slight,I believe.But,like Flo said,if you're wanting a cab that's great for playing in the very low frequencies,like reggae or dub,the 611 pro is probably best.I think the basic differences in tone between neo & ceramic magnet speakers applies here.I was playing with Epifani neo cabs for months before I realised they were actually neo speakers.

For all the effect, definatley run the neo's!! The 811 still has plenty of Bottom end, but the mids are to kill for. Check my old posts, you will see i run the tubepath, 411 & 115 neos. Try it out first if you can. You wont be sorry!

yeah cheers guys. rusty i see you have played with sharnee fenwick, shes a good friend of mine i went to school with her. and im pretty sure im going to get the neos, the 611 isnt that expensive so il probably just buy that later on when i need a different sound. thanks again everyone
 
Yeah mate, sharnz is great fun. We spend quite a few days on the turps in nashville a few years back!! She kept all of us entertained. Great singer / songwriter too!
