I have non warwick basses.

I don't much care if he plays a Squier,
Seth is still amazing.

If you read the TB post, the luthier says:

"Thanks. I thought of my favorite bass player
and out of the blue I sent him an email seeing
if he might want a custom bass.
I honestly didn't think it would work, but here we are."

It's not as if he went out searching for something else,
but it happened upon him.
I don't know any bass player that wouldn't be into
trying something else....especially a fanned fret bass.

Seth seems to be a busy man these days, relocating
amongst touring, and he put a great deal into this forum (
the old, better one IMHO).

I think we should all be thankful for what he did contribute.
 
This young guy seems to really know what he's doing.
His basses (also the other ones) look pretty nice!
If they sound as good as they look, I'd buy one - if I had the money ;)

Most of the JC basses are just rip offs from other companies.

There's a Carl Thompson lookalike, a Ritter lookalike, a Fender lookalike, and even one with a Warwick shaped headstock.

What a joke. Seth's bass looks like balls too.
 
Well, it`s hard to come up with something new. I think most basses are very similar and/or indifferent in shape, it`s the finish or headstock that does it.

But Seth has contributed so much, he could play Stagg for what I care.

Those basses look cool, sound good as well from the clips if you can get past the playing on some of the fretless clips. The omega bass looks pretty sweet.

Also i spotted a corvette in the background in this vid....



OT time:
As for Seth, i'm just awaiting his new album as i took part in his producers thing and am really excited to find out what tracks made the album and how he's gonna re-record them from the mp3 i've already heard.

I've got no real qualms with the guys pieces,
I understand wanting to do a tribute to another,
I almost did this with Bud LeCompte in lieu of the Thumb.
(Basically, same thing with an extended upper horn
for better balance.)

However, I looked at one of the builds blogs, and the
burst/fade job was just wretched. Though, he did
send it out of house to complete as noted on the blog.

All in all, I think there's just too many garage luthiers
out there, to just judge on appearance. You've really
got to get your hands on one to make the call.

(Which is why Bud was first in my mind.)

Some guys thought the problems were from the forum, but it was not. The new forum needed a better updated server, and the old crappy server cracked with the new forum. As you see we don't have problems anymore, and there is no way to say that the old forum was better. This is much faster (quick reply, the page is not even refreshing) and much more useful than the old one.
The crappy search function was killing me before , nobody is seing now that if you want to find some info on the forum, you actually find it...
The old forum was a cheap (free actually) , default, forum... and this one is the result of a lot of work.
Thanks one more time mate for noticing this, it means a lot to me :-)
