Check out my new custom bubinga knobs. I have a friend who is a woodworker and he made me these custom bubinga knobs to match my bass. They have a brass insert and a set screw, so they are top quality! If any other thumb owner is interested, I can have more made for the thumb bass for $45 shipped in the U.S., may be a little more for international shipping. I can get any wood to match almost any bass, like streamers and corvette double buckers, so let me know, drop me a PM. Enjoy!

They look gorgeous!

You probably already know, but be careful not to tighten the set screw too far with timber knobs.

I found out the hard way with some ebony knobs, and split one of them by tightening up the set screw too much.

:(

;)

Yeah we can do ramps too! The set screw goes through the brass insert, no worries about splitting the wood!

$45US????
That's all???
I might have to look into placing an order with you guys.Well done.

Ahh - nice ;)

Well done.

They really do look lovely.

I started that project a while back and never finished. Now I wish I did because those are really nice.

Seriously impressive knobs!

I agree... I think a ramp would be a good idea!

looks great! a fantastic idea! I wonder why this has not been thought of before:)

just one question on the practical side... guess the knobs would be quite hard to use during live applications.. sweaty or damp hands ---> slippery knobs. what about push-pull? this would get quite uncomfortable during Live as well.

great idea though.

=g=

They are fully functional, just like the stock knobs. Obviously they don't have the weight or the gripper pattern in them, but they function just like standard.

Anyone interested in some custom knobs?

Yeah, I am. How much for a bass/treble stack, pickup blend and a volume knob? Also, what type of woods can he make them in? Thanks,

Tim

That will run about $35 total. What type of wood are you looking for?

I am looking for Ovangkel to match my Thumb BO. If not, something close would do. Any suggestions?

Tim

I believe your "friend" may have made my knobs as well, I ordered some off of ebay (wenge) and they look like they have the exact construction, shape, brass inserts and all that.

Did you order them from Brian?

I can't remember the name, I ordered them about a year ago. All I remember is I got them off of ebay.
