okay i dont usually change the setup on my basses when i get them from the factory because they are usually perfect action for me... and im afraid to blow it. But the warwicks adjusting system seems to be very easy to accomidate inexperience... So im thinking of changing to drop C setup... so e 2 steps down and the other three strings a step... however when i do this right now it sounds gritty and i lose tone and i just dont like it... would changin the action and seyup even really do anything??? or not really? and how would you reccomend doing this... just raising the bridge and JAN accordingly? Thanks

IMHO of you drop an E string down to C it will never sound good, 'cause it's way too floppy.
If you just need that low C, I'd prefer to put a light gauge B string and tune it a whole step above.
Choose a heavy gauge for the other 3 strings that bneed to be detuned a whole step.

yup, going with a 120 or a 125 for that C should do nicely...
(Personally I like strings on the heavy side, so i'd even go with a 135 for a C, since i use 145 for by B...)
for the other strings, a "heavy" set should do: 90, 75, 55 or something like that...
As for the setup, it will depend on the feel once you get heavier strings on the bass... Tuning one step lower (less tension...) on a heavier set of strings (more tension...) might just even itself out and leave you with the same action as before...
You might have to check your intonation, though...
