Can This Be Fixed Or Repaired/re-stained 80s Lacquer Question

Hey everyone-
I was considering putting a bid on this but if you see the photo of the neck, that's what concerns me. I emailed the seller who seems very nice and assured me that it is the lacquer and NOT dinged/damaged. Do you know if this is an easy fix? Or is it would the repair be way too pricey?

It's called "MOJO"...looks amazing like it is (if, like the sallers says, it's not a crack in the neck, only the finish).

But, I guess any luthier could repair that "damage" in the finish without too much problem. Pricey? Well, if you want to refinish the whole bass, YES. Only the spot on the neck should not be too much money.

This could be true, Warwick hadn't so much experience with lacquer in the early beginning. This is why they did the wax finish.
Please be aware, the JJ configuration was not original, but the seller says it was changed by Warwick. I would ask for the verification by H.P.
If you need any help with a german translation, I may help :)

That would be great! I don't understand a word in the description but the seller responded in English;-) I also read somewhere that Warwick made a JJ Stage 1 model back then but cant be sure.

They did so but only for 5 Strings, not 4 strings. :)
 
Regardless of the pup config probably not being original...it's a paddle head, so it's among the first 343 Streamers made :)

It does look like there's a bit of discoloration right where one of the original P pup's would have been. So, you may have your answer without consulting HP. Very well could have been the reason it was painted...to hide the reconfig.

Lastly, despite even what HP will sometimes write back to people....this was not a Stage 1. Just "Streamer" :)

Wow I can see now that you are totally right! This J was replaced with the P and filled in/stained. Think I will just wait for my holy grail of streamers- Stage II 4 string, red, blue or black stain. Haven't found one or seen one in over 5 years. Damn..
