Hi Everyone!

This my first post here. I'm watching topics about TubePath 10.1/5.1 and i have some questions.

I want stack with head+1x15+4x10. My bass is 5-string Streamer LX tuned 2 tones down
Music? Stoner Hard Rock! (drums+me :) +guitar+voc)

Im confused which cabs are prefered to TubePath 10.1 or 5.1.

TubePath 10.1
---> WCA115 ND (400W)+ WCA411 ND (800W)? or
---> WCA115 ND (400W)+ WCA411 PRO (600W)? or something else?

How about 5.1? Im talking about 8 Ohms cabs... Im not sure is it posible to use two 4 Ohms cabs (serial) with 10.1 and is it good idea? :?

Do You have some suggestions?

I hope its clear. ;)

its not possible to use two four ohm cabs with the tubepath 10.1

my suggestions

tubepath 10.1
WCA 115 PRO and WCA 411 PRO

The WCA 611 PRO would also be nice

If you want light and small cabs the 115 ND and 411 ND cabs together would work great with a 1 kilowatt amp

tubepath 5.1
WCA115 PRO and WCA 410 PRO

If one cab is what you need the 4 ohm WCA 411 PRO is a great match

I'm not an expert in amps+cabinets so I try to get a few informations,
would it not be possible with a Tube path 5.1 to put 411Pro + 115Pro?
Do you think a 411 at 4ohms would be better (more powerful, and less cabs to cayy) or
would you get a wider sound range with a 410 and 115 at 8ohms?
I'm really thinking about getting a tube path 5.1 I've got to know which cab I'll get with
one(4ohms) or two (8ohms), it's not like getting one 411 (4ohms) then later "I could do
with a 115 more".
By the way, Stroud, you seem quite satisfied with your 410 + 115 configuration, but you
play a 5 string, I only play 4 strings and I was wondering (as you suggest, but any other
advice are welcome) if a 411 or 410 at 4ohms with a tube path 5.1 would be enough and
great in therms of sound.

I hope I don't steal your topic, Mvo (I think we're looking for the same kind of rig)

I play my Tubepath 10.1 through both my Pro and ND cabs... it depends on the size of the gig and how much I feel like carrying!

But if you play "stoner rock", I DEFINITELY recommend the PRO line of cabs. The NeoDynes are NOT suited to your style of music, but the Pros definitely ARE. All the way, baby.

a 411 (4 ohm) with a x-treme/tubepath 5.1 would be great. loud, powerful and sounbds great.

i wouldnt go with the 410 (4 ohm) because you'll waste some of the amps power but the 411 would be a perfect match

about the 5 string thing. 15 inch cabs arnt made just to handle the 5 strings low notes. they are made so your rig can better produce a more deep bassy fat sound, even on the higher notes.

and visa versa, in my opinion the 410 and 411 cabs on their own can easily handle 5 string basses

My hardcase for the second 411 PRO is not ready yet, so I am giging "only" with one 411 pro powered by a tubepath 10.1. It's just everything you need :-)
PLease consider that 410 PRO has NOT a tweeter, so the range will be narrower than using a 411.
Someone here said that if you play a Warwick without the 5000- 8000 Hz, you miss the cherry on the cake. He was right!

Thanks everyone,
Alex , I believe that any of those cabs are more than reliable, its difficult choose, you know my corvette $$ has already a good low end, so do I need a 115, plus a single cab is easier too carry and you don't need 2 cars for your rig! what do you think about the weight?

of course, that's why I consider seriously the 411 pro !
another little question : the 10.1 just delivers more power than the 5.1 so you need it on bigger stages or is it more punchy, or anything...?

Florin, nice picture, by the way

So seth, whats the sound differnce?

Not to answer for Seth, but in my personal experience Neo cabs have less low end to them and a little elss punch. They definitely sound very well for jazz and latin, but for rock, funk and maybe some pop styles, you might need the Pro cabs like Seth said.

Thib, I use 10.1, because, I WILL use it with two 411 PRO cabs. But I am using now with just one of them, and I don't set the vol over 12 o clock, so I am using it like a 5.1.
The only difference between the two of them is the power, and the price :-)
In my experience, you never need the whole 1000 W, but the two cabs stacked are doing the job very well. In other words, better use 5.1 with two cabs than 10.1 with one cab.

Ok, but with two 8ohms cabs then?

even the 410 without the tweeter will reproduce most of those frequencies. the 410 handles up to 7000htz

yes. if you use one cab you need the 4 ohm version. if you use two then you need them both to be 8 ohm cabs

You can use one cabinet with 8 ohms if you think you will want to buy another one later. There is not a problem using 8 ohm cabinet with 4 ohm amp. It will not sound as loud as a 4 ohm cab, but it will sound loud enough IMHO.

you'll lose about 30% (this isnt exact) of the amps power if you use just one 8 ohm cab

Or 30% of what you hear, I am not shure about this... If it is 30% of the amp's power, that is not a big deal... There is not really a big diference between 1000 and 700W. The number of speakers is more important :-)

the main problem is that I'm not sure I'll ever need two cabs, but if I buy a single 4ohm and then want 2, i'll have to buy two new 8ohm cabs...

Sroud, for sure the 410 can handle up to 7000htz but is less powerfull (300w) than the 411 (600w) and I can adjust the horn if I want.

I'm dreaming about a new rig nearly every night, but I'll have to save money slowly, if I want a tube path and a girlfriend... 8)
