Cab W411pro-speakers

hey,

i have some question about the speaker of the cap w411pro. two of four speakers are damaged. the membranes are ok but the inductores might be not.
1. question: is it possible to get that speakers repaired by warwick
2. question: repairing or buying new ones?

if someones knows more about that, please answer. thank you!

Hello man, welcome to the forum.
I will try to find this, but I believe it is better to change the speakers to be sure.

I purchased a W411pro cabinet about a year ago from thomann.de online store.
Now i have noticed that two of four speakers are broken. And when i contacted thomann.de staff about the warranty and send them a picture and they said that the damages to the speakers are self made (witch they are certainly not) and warranty wont make up for them. Now i wish to buy new speakers and install them my self. But i cant find any place witch have them on sale. Can you guys help me with this? :confused:

Unfortunately, speakers are usually not covered by warranty, as you can damage a speaker in 30 seconds... So I understand their position as well... I am sure you are right, but you cannot prove it, and they cannot let all the guys that don't know how to use amplification to change the broken speakers for free...

On a similar note are there re-cone kits available for the wick cabs? Most places that manufacture speakers do sell recone kits that are cheaper than a whole speaker (no magnet or cradle to pay for) cheap to ship but need to be installed by an expert who will charge a bit for the labour.

Sure hope there are because saves a lot of money to just pay a expert to install new cones.

I think Eminence make the drivers for the 411 Pro (Celestion make some of the Neo drivers). I don't know if there standard speakers, my bet is it's an OEM design for to Warwick's specifications. There may be a recone kit available - it's standard practice with many of the drivers for other manufacturer's cabs. Certainly a more cost effective option than a new speaker.

There you go, most speakers in bass/guitar/PA cabs are made by emminence or celestion. They can usually be OEM (custom orders by manufacturers) or re-badged standard issue stuff. The latter is more common than you'd think and if thats the case a re-cone kit is a likely option. Look up you emminence distributer where you live and give them a a buzz... i usedto work for the distributer here in OZ but thats not much good to you.....
 
If you have a kit, you will go to a tech to change it, right? I guess if you go directly to the professional, he might have the kits already :-)
 
Yeah, from what i have heard/seen re-coning is NOT a home job. basically a new voice coil, spider, dust cap and cone have to be put in and done in a manner so nothing is out so the coil touches the magnet. the margin for error is bugger all. Just a warning, good luck getting the bits you need
