Hi all hope you can help me ,i play bass 3 years now i need but new bass i play metal and i don't like bass was covered by guitar


buzzard bolt-on V.S corvette nt $$ bubinga
more suitable for metal ?
i want choose more cut thru that
some stupid question but i need listen to the others opinions

Alot of guys here like to say BOs are much suitable for metal than NTs, but I don't know about that one.

Bubinga is a growly beast, and $$ pups are very versital.

As for the Buzzard, I have no experience with that one. But I know enough about bubinga wood and how my $$ BO is. I might consider the BO $$ or maybe the LTD 2009.
 
The $$NT is a growly, very clear sounding beast o doom :) I play a $$ BO as well and an NT is currently in production for me .

Corvette is safe choice if you buy it without play....I took my buzzard to the band, guitarist said the bass is not enough compare to my Thumb 6, I feel that too, buzzard sounds really great when i play it at home....

I don't have corvette but play few times in the shop, very balance,great slapping, $$ is powerful.

I will pick corvette $$.
 
The corvette %% is very, very punchy when playing slap. But then again, I am getting one, so I guess I am biased ;)
 
If you can get a Buzzard for anywhere close to the price of a $$ NT, I think you have to at least consider it. And I wouldn't really consider the $$ to be the bass of choice to "cut thru" the mix... it has a big, warm tone.

But with that said, have a look at those videos of Erlend Caspersen that ShadowKnight posted... aside from the fact that he's an absolute monster player, the $$ seems to fit very well for metal.
 
The $$ NT tone is badass, just stellar. So deep and powerful.
 
Both are good for metal, but they sound different. Both of them are good choices... The buzzard sounds more articulated, $$ is fatter.
