Hi all,

I am trying to order a JAN III on the WW online shop but can not check out, is this due to the fact that I have not filled the "VAT ID" field ?

I have the same problem !!! can't order direct from there because of that !!!

thks

Québec, Canada

The city? If yes, I might have an address for you :-)

For the OP, try shooting an email to [email protected], otherwise, the distributor for France, SMI, should be able to point you to the nearest dealer :

Strings Music Import
6 Route Pérollier, 69570 Dardilly, France
+33 4 78 64 59 76 ‎ · stringsmusic.fr

Alors salut à toi cousin Québécois ! ;)

My guess is that French customers can not directly buy parts/accessories/etc from Warwick but must place an order with S.M.I, the French distributor for WW basses and Framus guitars. Am I right ?
Unfortunately S.M.I do not have brass JAN's III in their current product range (they only propose JAN's I), so I will have to place a special order, which means that my JAN III will finally cost me an arm and a leg...:(
Perhaps the problem is the same in Canada ?

Well, first of all, although I've lived, studied and worked for almost 5 years in the Belle Province, I'm still french, Lyonnais to be exact :-)

Which city are you from?

I now am at the headquarters, in the production.

Problem can often be related to the distributor not having the parts in stock. That means, your dealer must place the order for the parts, then the distributor must order it if they don't have it stock.

SMI, our partner in France, won't normally sell it directly to you, but can point you to a source, and they should be able to get you the brass JAN III. In the case you cannot get a satisfying answer, make sure to write to [email protected] and explain your situation. You'll get a fast answer to help solve your situation :-)

Please keep us informed how it works out for you.

I am located in Saintes (100km north of Bordeaux), Charentes-Maritimes, but I often go to Bordeaux and Bayonne where I can easily find a WW dealer.
I can shoot them an email about my saddle issue but I am pretty much sure I will be reoriented to SMI -actually I contacted WW two days ago for and was contacted back by someone from SMI. (By the way, perhaps you can answer to my question ? :) )
Of course I will keep you informed of the progress of my order.

@Jester: thanks for providing the link, but unfortunately I haven't been able to find what I am looking for on this site.

Can't you order it through someone who actually has a VAT id (someone who has his own company). I would order it through my old man's studio if I needed to.
Would save you a lot of trouble trying to find a shop who has them as nobody seems to want them in stock.

Well it should be the same here in Canada than you in france...

So instead ordering directly from the site, I will need to find a distributor...
That way:
1- I would have pay a lot more 'cause the distributor will take a cut on the transaction...
2- I would wait a lot more: I'll have to wait the time the distributor will take to place the order and the time after he receive the order and take the time to call to say he received the pieces... (about 2 weeks more) unless he has it in stock, which would be a surprise...

All that for 4 pickup screws and a JANIII to put and upgrade my new '88 SSII

well...

Or...

You can read my messages, I have an address where they might have one in stock for you. :)

Btw,

1 - No, you wouldn't have to pay more, the distributor takes of course a margin, but the public price stays more or less the same. You don't have usually have shipping to pay if ordered through a dealer.
2 - Depends if the distributor (which is now JAM/Korg in Canda) has it in stock, which is possible. In any case, you'll have to sort it out with your dealer.

There are alternatives, like the link posted by another user, or contact our showroom in NYC (address is on our website) where they have parts in stock, and see with them directly if they can sell it to you.

That's exactly what I did was put in a call to Tyler at the custom shop last Thursday and in about 10 minutes I had a brass JAN III ordered for my 98 FNA and a tracking number to boot.

Ok thanks everybody,

Regarding my former comment here: I just said all that because the few last times I ordered something from the local music shop here it was a nightmare...

Once i've ordered a rackmount case cause nobody had that in stock in the shops around at the time, I went to the shop several times in the next months after to see if they have received my order, then abandon and bought the rack elsewhere cause someone had received some, and one year and a half later they called me back to tell me they have received the case...

That's why now I prefer to call it direct from the shop now if I can...

I'll try your link or call korg Canada and see if they have the pieces in stock...

Many thanks again !!!

Korg/Jam Industrie won't sell to you directly, only through dealer. Where are you based? Québec City? If yes, shoot me a pm, I know of a shop that might have some on the shelves.

is there much differance between the brass jan3 and the standard one..i have a jan2 on my 99thumb nt5 thats perfect but just thinking if the brass one was worth the cost and effort to change,i will have to change at some point i guess..

There's been plenty of discussion on this.
