Broken tuner on Infinity SN5

Hey fellas,

Tonight, just before starting soundcheck, the D string tuner from my Infinity SN5 broke, the peg snapped. I was lucky enough to find some tools and changed the G string tuner to the D string hole, so I could play with 4 strings (B-E-A-D).

Anyway, I´m thinking about changing all the tuners, and not only the broken one, because I´m affraid the other four tuners could have the same faith.

What do you think?

Exactly this is what I would do. And ask Sascha which of them would be the best.

I would not trust them any more. I already hate the all active basses for the risk of a failing battery.

in your case for free

Don't panic! it is just one broken tuner, not all of them. Get a new set of W tuners. What you do from now is bring the old ones as spares and a screwdriver + a couple of fresh 9v batteries and a set of spare strings. I always bring a first aid kit for basses and amps (spare fuses) when I gig.

Very nice offer from you, Sascha, but I think I will keep those black.

TBH, right now I can´t afford to buy 5 Gotoh/Hipshot/Schaller, I might buy the standard Warwick tuners. This broke after 13 years, so if the new Warwicks last 13 moar years I will be happy.

Good advice. I always have screwdriver, spare strings and bateries, but I didn´t know I had to add tuners to the list. Now I know.
