Hi all,

I've been wanting a corvette for years (almost bought one in 07, but then I met the girl of my dreams). Well, I finally got the finances and ordered a brand new Pro Series Corvette Bubinga, and it arrived yesterday.

After opening it up, noticed the following issues last night:
  • Stacked Bass/Treble Controls are stuck and won't turn independently.
  • Action is ridiculously high
  • Neck is buzzing like crazy, both above and below fretted note.
  • The included Allen Keys don't fit the bridge
  • No rubber washer on top strap mount.
  • There is a chip in the wood on the top protruding piece of wood.

Due to the top 3 issues, this bass isn't even playable at the moment. I find this extremely dissatisfying as every Warwick I have played (as well as everything I've read) indicate they are set up prior to shipping.

There is a card that came with the bass, titled "QC Card". The first couple of rows are filled out, however, Action QC, Final QC, and Date are blank. Could this mean it never finished in quality control?

How do I go about getting it repaired/playable? Please help....

I hate to say it but send it back where you got it from for a refund or replacement. Document everything wrong with it as you did here.

Where are you from mate?
I gues the first contact would be the business you purchased it from. If they sold you a defective item or one that was not to the described standard they should have to repalce or fix it. If they are a bit difficult, contact your country's distributer.
Does seem likt the fit and finish are no good. which is strange, the Pros i have seen have been very nice. The incomplete QC card is stranger still. that kind of stuff shouldn't even make it out of the factory. Call whoever sold it to you and make it clear what you got was not what you paid for. Really trhe shop should sort you out. But i dont kow what your local consumer laws and rights are.

Pro series Warwicks have the same hardware as german built ones and should be perfect. Do not accept this faulty instrument. Take detailed photos of everything that's wrong in case you need them later and ask for another instrument (as you no longer trust in this 'monday morning' one) or a refund.

If the dealer does not cooperate try Warwick directly by sending them an e-mail. Contact info is on the Warwick.de website or try [email protected].

Good luck!

I'm in NYS. Ordered it through an online store based in CA (It took over a week to ship). They also don't have any in stock right now, so I'm hoping there may be another option as I need a working bass by the 12th.

Hello there, as the guys previusly said, the first step you have to do as a costumer is contact the seller and try to get a solution from them. If that doesn´t work, you should contact the distributor for the US, and ask for a solution with the seller/store.

Cheers.

thanks all!

A Warwick Rep on another forum contacted me and directed me to the distributer. They are going to replace the instrument.

will post again if something changes....

thanks!

Awesome. It happens sometimes with something mass-produced in Korea.

That aside, the wood damage notwithstanding, it would take about 30 minutes and a proper setup to remedy the other problems unless the neck itself is warped. The stacked knobs not turning independently is probably because the set screw on the bottom knob is too tight, causing it's control shaft to bind against the top knob's shaft.

I'm glad it's getting replaced.

Glad to hear that Jesse could help you out...some of us Warwick guys are on both forums as well. :P

Just an update....

On May 6th the distributor emailed me to tell me that it would be 3-4 for weeks for a replacement. Since the store I ordered from was out of stock (as well as every store I could fine), I decided to send it in under warranty for a replacment.

As of today, I still don't have a bass. At the end of the 3-4 weeks, it turned to a 'Couple more weeks'. Then a month after that, I was told it will be about 30 days till they are available.

Does anyone know what is going on with Warwick? Its sad enough that they shipped a bass in such poor condition, but now its been about 3 months and still no replacement!

I still think it's complete BS that Pro Series instruments don't get sent in at least a gig bag. Pay that sort of money for an instrument and it comes in a card board box.

I'll agree with that Jeff. A Rockbag gig bag wouldn't be a huge investment. I understand that these aren't the very pinnacle of the Warwick line, but they aren't cheap instruments. I'm not sure about all markets, but all German basses are now being sold with a hard case here in Australia so it would make sense that the Pro Series at least now get a gig bag and we leave the cardboard box for the Rockbass line.

;)

The Pro Series now comes to a price-level how we had it for the "cheaper" german Warwicks 5 or 6 years ago. That means that I would suppose to get such a bass with a proper gigbag and all the tools needed. Even my indonesian made Ibanez came with a gigbag and a guitar strap!

well thex come with a user kit ( a bag with the trussrod tool etc.)

imo good enough:-)

Gig bag would not hurt - the chinese Alien comes in a nice Gigbag e.g.
But - well you can order one in no time:-)

Gig bag or no gig bag.... What's it matter when you don't have a functioning bass?

But yeah, for the price they definitely should include a case of some sorts...

I PM's back to you NLB, I hope we can solve the problem together soon.
