Folks,

I recently bought an SS1 5 new - or so I think. The bass was very cheap from a very reputable mail order store in the UK. Infact, it was so cheap (advertised as new) that I had to question the store. So I bought it. Next thing I know, the website price went up £500 and then today, it's gone up another £500!! So its £1000 more expensive than this time last month.

Question is, might this of been a mistake by the store and they've sold it to me for the wrong price or was I sold a used "but call it new" bass?

It is a Dec08 serial number and seems new.

Any idea how to find out based on just the serial number?

I'm sure someone here could tell you just by the serial #, but we all like a lil bass porn, we could answer your question quicker with some pics. :)

DEC 08 is very new, so unless it was returned or something it can't have been abused that much!

Pics would be cool but other than that if everything works, electrics, truss rod(important) and all the other bits and pieces, no visible damage to the wood, wear/tear or anything else that nasty, then hell i'd be happy!

You could maybe email warwick though they could help out as the bass is a recent one, i think they track stuff like that for warranty purposes.

Time of the year Bro. People spending what they aint got at Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years. Trying to meet the end of the year quotas. You lucked out. So did I, prolly saved close to a G note on my new home theater components altogether. Good for you my son!
