AZZA - first live! recordings. [myspace too]

Hello Warwick Buddies,

My new band is called now AZZA, and we had a first gig two days ago. This is a rough recording, and I want to share it with you.
I would apreciate any feedback coming from you, as I value your opinion.

It is with a lot of mistakes, as this gig was after 4 days of rehearsals only, but we had a lot of fun :-)

I 'm glad you removed the "retired" word from your description. Art! Art! and more Art!
 
it sounds new and "familiar" at the same time! to me the sax gives it a very jazzy sound (not that the rest isn't there or close enough). definitely very different from what i'm used to ear but it's nice to ear something different to broaden the musical horizon!
 
So what genre do you guys think this music belongs in?
Flo asked me & I said folk jazz,or folky jazz.
It's pretty cool whatever it's called.
 
I wasn't much into the first demo you showed us, but this, I like very much :D

Philippe, the first one was a home recording, using the computer for drums and bass, it was only a sketch.
I'm having a lot of fun with them :-)
 
Pretty groovy stuff flo, love the sax & singer. I'd called it more "Jazz" than anything else, makings of something very cool & different.

Keep us updated & Hurry up with updating the myspace with pictures!!!!

Thanks guys. We had last night another gig, this time almost 2 hours of original songs. The audience was really nice to us, but I know this is a sign of good will coming from them, and that we need to work a lot from now on.

 
That's nice! Seems you guys are getting a nice start :)
And that's right, the better the reception from the public, the most you have to work to cativate it, to generate some hype and a following, which are key to all the good things that can happen to a band. I'm sure you'll do great, the songs are tight and that's the main thing ;)
 
I can hear you were enjoying the performance, which is most important. Yeah, I like jazzy stuff. The drums brought the Charlie Hunter Trio to mind. I like it Florin!
 
Having fun with good music... what can be better than this???
