Are the necks interchangeable?

Hello all. It's been a while since I've posted. Coursework has kept me off the forum for a while. It's about time I come back here and drop a question.


Are Warwick and Rockbass necks interchangeable? More specifically, are 5 string Corvette necks interchangeable?

Theoretically they are not. We drill the holes manually when we put the neck and body together. On the other hand, some tried and succeded to switch the necks.

They're very close to being the same. Any difference will be minimal.

Hey man! I tried changing my rockbass fortress neck for a german warwick neck and it didn't fit properly!!

if the neck is to big make the pocket larger if to small you can line it wit wood and sand it down till the neck fitts tight.i don't think it will be a simple bolt on job.

Thanks for the input guys. I saw a rockbass neck on ebay and was tempted to buy it. I'll hold my cash and keep my eyes peeled.

I've wondered about this theory too. I've had a friend who had his Rockbass neck broken after it fell out of the plane at the airport, and Warwick were a little hesitant to send over another un-matched neck for that reason; seeing there was a possibility it would not fit, and require some work to seat it properly. He has resorted to looking on ebay for unwanted neck projects, but has not had any success. If it were a possibility, I would also consider the upgrade modification.
