If anyone's into home brewing beer, I can volunteer my knowledge as a professional brewer who started out 25 years ago as a home brewer.

is it difficult? There is so much beer at hand here in the Netherlands and Belgium....... can't beat that taste... We can even have Warwick beer in Amsterdam (white label beer brewers)

Well, it can be very easy, or it can be more technical.. ie: starting out with homebrewing can be a simple as mixing malt extract with water and adding yeast... Or, you can go for more complicated (but better) all grain brewing directly (which requires more equipment, but makes a much, much better beer).

For first time brewers, I highly recommend going "half way", ie: boiling liquid malt extract diluted in water (with hop additions) to achieve the 18 litres of final beer you will achieve per batch.

The first time I brewed involved a can of malt extract (pre-hopped) diluted in 4 litres of water (brought to a boil) and then diluted into another 15 litres of cold water in a plastic fermenter. It worked and tasted very good.
