Anyone ever see one of these?

Anyone ever see or try one of these. I think the sliding pickup section is pretty interesting. I would imagine the natural sound of this instrumet would be pretty thin, but with electronic, it could sound cool. Just saw it and was curious if anyone had any expeience with it.

I've never known anyone to buy & sell as many basses as you.I've been dying to ask,why did you buy a 4 string SS2 when you you wanted a 5?I dont get it.It's not like you can make money on used Warwicks.

Well I bought it because I wanted to feel the tone and when I had the money no 5ers were available ANYWHERE!!!!!! :shock:

I got it an loved the sound. As we speak the 4er is on its way to Canada to its rightful new owner and I will get his 5er. Also made develop a new friendship with a forumer I had not met well in the past. :wink:

I did not buy it with the intentions on making money of it that's why I asked many, many 5er owners about a trade. worst case scenario was going to end up maybe in a sale to buy a 5er but somebody was looking for a vintage 4er and Heaven's gates were opened!!! :wink:

and we all know we can not make money on used Warwicks... vintage or not... but they are always nice toys to play around and try out (different sounds and feels). I do not see them as investments or profit means, but as opportunities to enjoy fine instruments and excellent craftmanship (especially the vintage ones). :wink:


about me getting excited........( you know me too well young Padawan!! :wink: :wink: you are Indeed Strong in The Force! :wink: :lol: :lol: ) especially when I called soo many places and nobody due to "distribution issues" (so we do not get into trouble here), nobody had any in stock and DBG had no 5ers either just 4 stringers. :wink: I saw the vintage one and my palms started sweating and had tachichardia and stuff... man i am really an addict to nice basses. Truly a Wichoholic. :wink: I swear. :wink:

I'm actually holding one of those Rail basses as we speak! LMAO. Its Chrizp from Fusebox Funk's and i have it at my house to work on for him, while we had some down time.

You slide the pup up and back to get the tone you want. There is only one knob, for volume. It's a trip. Sounds like ass though. (Don't tell Chrizp).

Westone never were exactly high end basses though. A mate of mine in school had a couple of their regular basses and they sounded thin. The Rail is simply a novelty from around the same time Steinberger introduced their first guits and basses. A feeble attempt to one-up those guys methinks.

Nobody one-ups Ned Steinberger. Those beloved Streamers are
his design from the Spector NS basses. Even if you feel that Wick
may have one-upped Spector, Stu Spector isn't Ned Steinberger.
Ned designed the foundation that both Spector and Wick still use.

As to the Rail, when I had my chance I took a pass. It just looked
too unplayable, and too complex for a low budget device. I play
Steinbergers and various Steinberger-inspired headless basses,
but they hafta be real players, not just curiosities.

And nope, I am not GASsing for the Nobby. And altho the Triumph
has my attention, in the end, for both those genres, I'm with Ned.

I agree, although I love the triumph, what I REALLY want is a NS upright. Or maybe one of those upright basses you can play strapped on.
