I figured most of you do or have, but I noticed mine were starting to tarnish a little so I broke out the Brasso on theme and they came out looking like new.

How often do you guys polish them on your Wick's?

Tim

I took this picture on one of my wifes antique tables. It dates back to the late 1800's and we bought it when we lived England around 1998. Anyone guess what type of wood it is?

Coincidentally I did yesterday the same thing! I love how look as bright again!! 8)

You can also go to a music store that has a brass and woodwind section and buy Blitz cloths. They are used for polishing brass instruments and do nicely for maintaining our bell brass frets once they've been cleaned up.

Brasso is not bad for wood ?? Or did you tape the board ?? The frets look REALLY nice though. :D

thats a good question. is it abrasive or corrosive to wood at all?

I steel wool mine when I get a used bass, but it's usually a one time deal, unless I'm getting one ready to sell...

I taped the fretboard up before I did it. Strong with the force, I am.

I used Orange oil with a soft cloth and it was sooooo easy. With minimal scrubbing it looked like new.
