Anybody else here into tapping?

Wondering if anyone else here uses tapping? Other than just a technique they break out when bored.

If you've stumbled over to my myspace page you would notice that when playing solo thats what I mainly do... I also do it a bit with my band. And at the moment I'm currently tabbing out some Death tunes converted over to bass for tapping.
 
I've yet to bust it out live, but I've got a couple interludes we're trying to fit into songs.
 
I use it a lot with Tv IV Dogs....most of the time, in fact. I do it somewhat differently though....I seldom do solos, but I find tapping gives you that awesome 'piano' quality, and so I use it to carry melodies.

I guess I just always try to keep it within the groove, y'know?
 
i like to use it more, i dont really practice it, iv got this bass tapping book by shephen ritcher, which is pretty good, its a fairly advanced techque tho.
 
no tapping for me not got round to learning it + in the music i play its never come up really.
 
i like to tap out these patterns:

root - 5th - octave

root - 5th - 2nd -3rd (or minor 3rd, or minor 7th)

in my hardcore band, i use to do it all the time especially with slow songs and the guitar is just droning on a root... with my current band... things are really too fast for tapping, but who knows... Necrophagist taps a lot (oh well, at least in that one song i heard).

Haha !! Indeed I tap...................but only when I'm bored. :lol:
 
I tap a bit. Both in songs, and just when I'm playing around. I dig it, but I'd like to get a lot better at it.
 
started to tap about 3months ago, not really good yet, but I'm starting to have some not too bad riffs.
 
Yeah, I do it I would say a good bit.

I try to have a verity of styles when jamming with others.

As for a song... its just whether it needs tapping in it or not.

Only Ash Remains? It's the only Necrophagist song I've heard but it has a crazy tapping solo at the very beginning
 
You can. It's the same as anything else. Practice, practice, practice. That's what google is for. You'll be a tapping pro in no time.

I tap a bit but not in my band... I have a song of my own where's main theme is in tapping, but the song ain't finished yet... It's kinda slow, melodic, and with a bit of delay, it sounds great.

just like others, i cant get my darklord's action low enough to tap seamlessly and with all the high action tapping im doing with the thing, i wont be surprised if i tap better when i play a bass with good tapping set up
