Another stinking string ?

Whats the main differences in sound qualities of the Yellow Label vs Black Label? Also what gauge do the basses get strung up with? medium? I have a fretted and fretless -

Yellow Label strings (Nickel plated) are more mellow, and the treble is not so bright compared to Black Label strings I think. I want to try these strings too.
I also think that all Warwicks are equiped with medium gauge strings.
