I've had a good look at past threads and not found anything on this.

As a Streamer LX owner, I'd be really interested in learning about all the other German Wick models, just what they sound like, the genres of music they're best suited to, etc.

Does anyone know of any useful articles/write-ups etc. or does anyone have the time and interest in detailing this please?

concerning sound, checking youtube for clips can give you the basic idea (in most cases).. about genres, well imho the bassist's intention is more important there ;)
 
About sound, you should take a look in or "Warwick Clips" forum. a lot of people have posted sound recordings, of their basses from Corvette Stds to CS Thumbs, and everything in between. Youtube is another source of sound clips.

I think Warwicks are used in every kind of music, since they are very versatil instruments, but mostly in Hard Rock, Metal, modern Jazz, Funk, Pop, Reggae. I don´t remember any bass player using W for classic Rock, or classic jazz, but I´m sure there is somebody out there doing it.

....also check out the Warwick site. They list every model and the specs, and plenty of pictures to drool over. As Caracasbass stated, the users on the forum play a variety of music so you should find sound clips and videos in different styles. The WW models all have their sound but in the right hands they can be used i any style. Your LX will be able to hang in as many styles that you can throw a it.

Here is a Warwick Vampyre in the least likely of places, Lady Gagas band (skip to 4:43 for shot). I do not know who the bass player is, I'm sure he's a Warwick (endorsee?) man to be rocking one!

I remember seeing somewhere that Gaga's bassist bought that Vampyre from the NY custom shop shortly before this performance.
Most people accosiate the Vampyre with metal, but it's not uncommon to see it being used in many other genres. From Seth Horan, to lady Gaga. It just goes to show ya that a mostly maple bass can be used for anything.

I got the link from Justin who put it up on Twitter a week or two ago. This thread brought it back up. I totally agree about the versatility of WW bassis. I did not realize he purchased if from the NYC shop. Very cool.

Seth's an average sized white guy.
 
i was talking two different things here. Seth Horan is a chunky white guy, i know. But, the guy in the gaga video looks like randy jackson
