Advice Needed:Cleaning Ash Vette

Hi Folks,
I recently became the owner of a natural finish ash vette and need to clean the body as it is grubby in a few areas.I'm not sure what is the best action to take,do I sand the grime off or can anyone recommend a good alternative? I have read that lemon oil is good for cleaning but this has been with bubinga, is it any good for cleaning ash or is there a better alternative?

Lemon Oil then a nice fresh coating of wax will clean it up for you.

I'm not an expert but, I Would be afraid the lemon oil may "block in" some of the grime. I would start with [Scotts liquid gold wood wash first] Then I'd use the Lemon oil. I know that Lemon oil is listed as a cleaner but for extra grimy situations, I'd use the Scotts first.
