My Girlfriend alleges that the Warwick Forum, and bass playing community in general is, in fact, a cult.

It depends a lot on the definition of "cult", since the word has several meanings.
In my opinion, regarding my personal position within this community, the answer is no.

respondents only proves that it IS a cult.

I would say that this place isn't a cult, but then again, that's probably because I've been brainwashed by the awesomeness of Warwick, and the community of Warwick players

Cults usually involve techniques such as sleep deprivation and protein starvation to make the mind more malleable: in which case, no (unless you stay up all night playing your bass)

Thay also involve paying over large sums of money to some guy with a big hat (I don't know if HPW wears a big hat): in which case, possibly!

Sometimes they involve "demonising" the enemy: so quit the Fender-bashing!

Sounds as if she is jealous of all the time you spend here instead of with her...my girlfriend thinks its 'cute' that I spend so much time here, and that I have other interests. (I think she finds bass guitarists sexy so.... :wink: ).

anyway...cult?....no...

A cult REQUIRES you spend time with them, and only them....we are all here of our own free will (and obsessions with Warwicks....), we encourage each other to TRY NEW things...we help each other to LEARN NEW things...and we praise each other for our open mindedness and openness with each other.

You do NOT find these qualities in a cult (or most organized religions for that matter).

Tell your girlfriend you love her, that she is the only woman for you, and that you need time (sometimes) with your bass-loving extended family.

NOW DRINK THE F*CKING PUNCH !!!! :twisted: AND PREPARE FOR THE GRAND TRANSFORMATION!!! :shock:
