A case for my Bass (FNA Jazzman)

Ugh Comrades.

So, which case would fit my FNA Jazz-man?

Because the Corvette has its own shape, and it's pretty difficult to find a case which has not been designed for anything but a P / J-Bass.

This is the case I use for my 'vette. I've been on 4 flights with it, and I've had nothing but success :D
 
hmm, I'm not exactly sure what the big difference is.. I can see a big difference in the padding, tho. In the one I showed you, the interior is all foam with a velvet lining. The one you're showing me seems to have different foam without a lining. I would just keep in mind that you generally get what you pay for, but of course you probably have a lot more experience buying gear than me ;).

Anyone else have the Rockcase RC10805B?
 
After staring at the Warwick catalogue very carefully I think the 10830 is designed specifically for Warwick basses, so is a precise fit for the regular models (Thumbs, Corvettes, Streamers etc, but not Strykers, Buzzards etc). I think the 10805 is designed for any bass, so it's not such a good fit for Warwicks. The other difference is as Trey says: the 10805 has bare foam padding inside, whereas the 10830 has foam covered in a plush velvet material. I can't see that that justifies the huge price difference. For what it's worth, Warwick ship basses in the 10830 case - that's what my Thumb came in when I bought it brand new 2 years ago. So they chose the expensive model!

hmm, that makes a lot of sense, considering there is a 40 mm length difference between tha two :)
 
Get the one that's made for Warwicks if you can. The sliding back & forth in a generic case can be devastating.

Or.......You can remove the felt from say an SKB Case and "Build up" the case with Styrofoam to fit your bass and then just re-glue the felt. Sounds tough but actually very simple. 3M makes a special spray glue for such applications. I did the opposite once to fit a Jaguar Bass in a Jazz Bass Case. Worked like a Charm.

I use an SKB hard case moulded for a jazz bass. Some extra foam in the right places makes my Corvette super snug and secure. Have flown this way a few times and the bass has not so much as gone out of tune.
