8ohm CCL cutting out

Hi, I have recently have been having problems with my 15" CCL combo amp.
During play the sound level will dip drastically (almost to the level of no sound at all) randomly, there is still a buzz from the speakers so they still seem to be active when this happens. I have checked for loose/bad connections within the amp and also the fuses but can't seem to find the source of the problem.

Any suggestions?

Hey Steve,
It doesn't seem to be a protection. When the protection is on, so is the MUTE led. It does look like a bad contact or pot to me...

thanks for the input Florin.

from trial and error i believe for the problem to be comming from the GAIN pot, also ive noticed the fan comes on periodically and only for a second.

the question i have now is: is the problem due to the overheating of the pot due to a faulty fan?

I think a faulty pot, or a bad contact on the board. Overheating will cause the protection to kick in first.
