Very small chances to find what I'm looking for but I'll try.
For trade here I have an all original very early Warwick Thumb, it's an '87 and it's still marked JD, John Davis which is the player/American Army soldier in Germany that endorsed it first (so I'm told).
It's in incredible conditions, very little wear, straight neck, frets have plenty of life, truss rod works and everything electronic works as it should. It has EMGs p/ups that, I understand from researching them, sound different compared recent ones. The bridge is the one piece type, characteristic of the early Warwicks. Can't find enough adjectives to describe the growl that these produce, mean, powerful, hearth shaking? As you know Warwick you know what I'm saying. Comes with its original thick gig bag.
For full disclosure about conditions, there is a tiny screw hole on the back of the body, one inch distant from the battery compartment and the bass control (bottom of the stacked one) it's a little harder to move, nothing bad at all, just had to mention it. Nothing you can't fix IF that bothers you.
I heard often talking about how modern Thumb basses don't balance well and tend to neck dive, well these oldies have a perfect balance, maybe because have a skinnier neck with a carved wood on the back of the head or who knows why.
So what I'm looking for as a trade is either a:
- Warwick Streamer Stage II late 80s or early 90s, wenge neck and EMGs p/ups.
- Warwick Dolphin Pro1, better with wenge neck and MEC p/ups.
- Jaydee Series 3 preferably with maple stringers neck.
Cash price $2000 shipped in US (1500 Euro/1250 GBP approx.), but I'm really looking for one of the mentioned trades, not excited for a cash sale. Overseas contact me for a quote but keep in mind that it will be expensive.
