Does anyone have one for sale?

To expand/explain. I have a 5th Anniversary bass which I love 'dearly' BUT... it has a subdued E string/pronounced A string and no amount of string changes and a change of preamp/pups has corrected this imbalance. I'm hoping that it may be remedied by a physical change such as the bridge!

This is NOT a standard sized late 80's or 90's bridge. ;)
 
I think the bass is no good - and you should send it to me.

:-) you might try Volkmar Rudolph - maybe Warwick has one or 2 spares laying around.

Other than that chances are close to zero me thinks :-/ as you would need to disassemble a stage1 or 2 of that period to get a bridge.

I might just have fixed it (only taken me + the previous owner 29 years to solve)!

I guessed it might be mechanical/physical as the pups have both been changed as has the preamp. As it was looking unlikely that I'd get a replacement bridge I decided the next best thing would be to replace all of the saddles... and while I was on I replaced the nut grub screws (had two sets, luckily one spare nut had a full set of shorter length grubs as per mine). Oh and for the hell of it I flipped the bridge EA 1/2 of the pup around, substituted the spring adjusters for foam, tweaked the truss rod (which I'd done previously anyway) and reseated the whole bridge assembly!

No idea which of these it was but 'hey presto' I now have a balanced string set. :)

I mentioned the previous owner having issues with the bass; his tech had even left a little message on the inside of the cover saying that he'd been in there a few times before!

Hmmmm now wondering if I should revert back to the original SD pups and pre or leave well alone with these MEC in! :lol:
