7 string packs anybody?

My CS streamer is coming soon, but I haven't been able to find a place in Spain which sells 7 string packs yet. I have located six strings packs but they won't sell me 0.020/0.015 singles for the high F

Could someone give me suggestions about online sites or shops?

Wow, I always thought the 7 string had a string lower than the B,not up on the high end. How are you having it tuned anyways??
 
The most common standard for 7ers is:

B E A D G C F

Which is what I have planned for it.

a F# below B instead of the high F is also a popular alternate tuning, or the low E (21 Hz approx) aproach of lows fanatics which is:

E A D G C F A#

But I prefer higher extended range as there are few amps that can reproduce efficiently notes below low B. And also a few human beings that can actually hear those notes.

I guess that is why I like the extra low sound, I can actually hear it 8)
 
TBS, the way you are going to tune that bass is going to be fun to play! I've owned many six stringers and would love to have a 7 string tuned like that. :D
 
I wanted the "bassics" :lol: with some added fun.

It is great to do the bass work in the different styles and situations, but I want my share of fun playing along with other bass players, or experimenting with the added range, currently playing stuff over cello and trying keys+bass+percussion(no drums).

I played a 5 string once tuned down to F# B E A D the string feel/response was good, the lows were rumbling, but it lacked definition (not very usual thing in a Thumb NT), in the end it was not very musical...

I know it was my rig's fault to a great extent, as it was not prepared for such low notes. F# is for hardcore subs and anything lower I don't think is worth IMHO.

As you say scottm it is going to be loads of fun :twisted:

I have also been told about ritter swordsteel strings. The problem is I will need to try several string gauges until I get the correct one. I already have the idea of where to start, but I'm sure every one knows about the string trying phase on a new instrument, and those two sets are both around 70€.

I was thinking about something more like red labels, not the best strings, but surely one of the best considering their cost-efectiveness ratio.
