My '71 Fender 400 ps is an amp that can really slap an audience around when it's working right. Theres always something wrong with it tho. I just got one of the outputs fixed. It was loose and the loud bass would shake it creating static. Once I got that fixed I thought I was done hearing that damn static. Now I'm hearing static again. This time from one of the GE 6550-A power tubes. It's so loose that sometimes it doesn't even turn on. When it does the loud bass shakes the tube creating static. The thing the tube is plugged in to (whats it called again.....?) needs to be replaced. I guess I was wondering if this is something I can do on my own or should I bring it to a pro and pay to have it done?? Also, I've been told that 400 PS's are very sensitive amps and not to bring it to just anybody. But where do I find someone that specializes in 400 PS's? If anyone here is firmilar with these amps please let me know what you think. Thanks.
