2nd hand Warwick

Hey everyone!

I've been playing bass for 5 years now and pretty much for all that time I've wanted a Warwick but I couldn't really afford it (unfortunately).
Now I have an opportunity to buy a 2nd hand Warwick Corvette standard and was hoping to get a bit of extra info here.

The guy says (no picture unfortunately) that the serial code is: F 144685 08, so this should be a German bass if I'm correct? (june 2008?), but what strikes me as odd is that he says that he only paid €600 new for it, which I'd think is a bit low?

The price he ask is around €500 which, for a good condition Warwick, seems pretty fair right?

It's a passive ash Corvette, so the most entry level german Warwick there was at the time.

500 Euro isn't the cheapest you could get one for, nor the most expensive, so probably a fair deal if it plays well

If the serial is correct, 100% German built bass so have no doubts there. Just check the reason he got it cheap new wasn't due to a cosmetic, or worse, defect.

If you have doubts about the instruments, I have for sale a similar one but MUUUCH nicer, from 95, with active MEC pickups, wenge neck, in perfect condition PM me.

Regarding the sale, I find a bit odd that you are not shown the serial number. When I am selling I normally would give a photo upon request to allow people to check I am not misleading them.
And hey, you already have alternatives if you want/need, as mentioned by Florin

I also asked for the serial number but didn't got a photo of it. I thought it was a korean, glad it is german.
Still waiting for a photo to be sure.
I had a corvette proline active 1993 and corvette standard passive bubinga 1999 in the past.
I regret selling them. I want one back.

Does warwick still built passive corvettes?

yes, they are passive corvettes are available via custom shop, pro series and as a rockbass model, so you got the full range of choice

I need to post a clip of my 99 LX 5 string. It has an ovangkol neck, but snaps and growls unlike any wenge-neck Warwick I've played. It made my question my wenge loyalty.
