Anyone knows how does Warwick (or any other company for that matter) choose a 2-way or 3-way onboard preamp for a specific bass model? Also what are the main differences between 2-way and 3-way preamps from your experience?

I would assume that having a 3-band EQ rather than a 2-band EQ is better is it gives you more control of the tone/sound of your bass.

I use one of each. My fretless Thumb has the 3-way, and I find it very well suited for dialing in growls, and especially for bringing out harmonics. My fretted Thumb sounds great with the two-way.
